The Hellenic Ornithological Society and the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, under the auspice of The City of Athens Culture, Sports and Youth Organization (OPANDA), co-organize an interactive exhibition about the birds of Greece at the “Art Center – Freedom Park” of the Municipality of Athens from 18 September 2013 to 13 October 2013.

The exhibition aims to raise public awareness about the magic world of wild birds and their habitats. It also acts as a reminder about the importance of nature protection and the need to take action in order to safeguard a sustainable environment for both birds and humans.

Besides unique snapshots of wildlife, captured by the lens of photographers and both organizations’ members, the exhibition also features interactive, informative as well as educational activities addressed to people of all ages in the Art Center and outdoors.

More specifically, there will be environmental workshops with handicrafts, paintings and games based on various kinds of birds, such as: seabirds, wetland birds, rural birds and urban birds. In addition, visitors will have the chance to watch documentaries about birds and their protection, screened throughout the exhibition.
